Many people don’t feel empowered to work with data and technology for reasons that may include complicated technologies, a lack of skills or confidence, or a lack of institutional data use processes. These barriers result in limited use of evidence to drive decisions related to quality and continuous improvement of academic programs and student services. This presentation will discuss Humber College’s approach to eliminating these barriers in support of a culture of quality across the institution. The discussion will focus on two main areas: our processes for enhancing data and technology knowledge and utilization, and the tools developed to engage employees in using data to gain insights.
