The Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission (MPHEC) monitors enrolment, persistence and time-to-degree in Maritime universities. In Fall 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic impacted enrolment in unexpected ways. Overall enrolment in the region remained stable and the persistence of students already enrolled in university was high, but student course loads decreased. Pulling together information on student course load and time-to-degree observed in past cohorts, this presentation examines university enroment trends during the first full year of the pandemic and the potential impact on universities and different groups of students in upcoming years.
