SFU’s NSSE results have remained stable despite efforts to improve student engagement. Using data from SFU NSSE surveys from 2014, 2017 & 2020 and the Queen’s National Project, we try to address questions such as: What are important predictors of student satisfaction among Canadian institutions and how does SFU compare? Which characteristics of an institution (or a student) and which NSSE indicators predict overall satisfaction and critical engagement indicators? Here we present regression analysis to show how institutions could get more out of their own NSSE results to identify specific areas that could help boost student engagement.
