Rio Hondo College is a California Community College located in Whittier, CA, near Los Angeles. In 2021 Rio Hondo College began a project aimed at recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic by maximizing revenue and supporting the growth of the College’s diverse student population. In partnership with Plaid Analytics, Rio Hondo built an automated data pipeline, data warehouse, and various strategic and operational Tableau visualizations to allow real-time decision-making. Data was brought in from many different institutional systems including the Banner SIS, DegreeWorks, student appointment systems, and accreditation tracking and monitoring, and was augmented with additional data.
