Thompson Rivers University spans three campuses offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. In this presentation, we take a deep dive into the technical tools used to produce headcount and enrolment projections for our Kamloops campus. The process uses a series of Tableau Prep flows that connect to our Oracle data warehouse to determine current student headcount by program and year. These students, plus predicted incoming students, are moved through programs via observed retention rates using R scripts connected to the flow. In a separate flow, headcounts are transformed into course enrolments through the application of a course matrix.
